Well done. The arches remind me of church windows.Marshalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13560994749922503865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8672429826561258985.post-23707221907106347262012-12-17T12:34:16.438-06:002012-12-17T12:34:16.438-06:00I like that repeated arch pattern a lot -- I think...I like that repeated arch pattern a lot -- I think Peter F. has it on some of his boxes. The crosses you've added make it nicely reminiscent of stained glass windows in a cathedral, which I like, and also very appropriate for this box.Scott Turnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03393071448515738228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8672429826561258985.post-87939327052221678272012-12-17T12:09:38.581-06:002012-12-17T12:09:38.581-06:00I see what you mean Scott, and believe it or not I...I see what you mean Scott, and believe it or not I considered doing just that while I was in process. I lightly scratched a couple lines and decided it wouldn't feel grounded the way the others at the bottom do. Instead it felt like it was floating away.

Could have been just my perspective at the moment, but since you made me think about it I've decided there's probably a lot more I could do with this simple repeated arch that I'm just letting be right now. I should try and push the patterns boundaries and see where it takes me.

DDerek Olson (Oldwolf)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17266838091596906383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8672429826561258985.post-20705977823568316122012-12-17T08:46:44.708-06:002012-12-17T08:46:44.708-06:00Very interesting posting as usual.
I see what you...Very interesting posting as usual.

I see what you mean about the corners of the panels, but at least from a distance it shows as a nice balance.

On the interlocking arches pattern you've carved for the sides I really like the third line on the bottoms of the arches that does not cross but instead outlines the negative space. I think it would look good to do a similar thing with the first line at the top of the design as well (if you see what I mean).
Scott Turnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03393071448515738228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8672429826561258985.post-19290926669798455922012-12-17T06:36:40.912-06:002012-12-17T06:36:40.912-06:00Your work is more beautiful each time.
