Just to put it...Oops, That was the wrong box!! ;)<br /><br />Just to put it in context.....<br /><br />Many years ago, in a workshop far away..... I used to be fairly active on the Oldtools mailing list. I started something that I hope still goes on. I instigated the Secret Santa Christmas Gift exchange. The rules were: It had to be tool related, there was a $20 limit, and no griping. It was untold fun. Some stuff would be user made, some were garage sale or flea market finds, some were shop orphans. As far as I know, nobody ever got stiffed, or was unhappy with the game. The most fun was that it was worldwide. I thought about trying to organize one on Lumberjocks but I don't think it would work on that scale. The logistics of the 200 or so participants on oldtools was crazy enough. Something the size of Lumberjocks would be terrifying. It was also a simpler time. I really miss the old small community but the broader internet community has some real advantages as well.
